The
Canfields purchased the store in 1946. In front of the store
are from left to right: June, Lois, Elsie and Mrs.Canfield.
The lean-to was originally a booth for the sale of sweets
and and pies and milkshakes. In the main building groceries
were sold.
The property changed hands several times. Lastly it accommodated
the “Hoofbeat Corral.”
The building was demolished in 1956. It was built about 1900
and was one of the oldest in Whonnock. |
